Dr. KristianInterests: Men's Health, Running Chiropractic is the gentle, effective and safe1 way to care for the whole family. Nurturing your child’s spine and developing nervous system is one of the best ways to get them a great head start to life. There’s no “too young” or “too late” when it comes to improving the health of your family. There is an emerging body of evidence to support chiropractic care, which is cool; the research is finally catching up to what we already knew! Chiropractic can help your kids function better, it helps their balance, improves fine and gross motor coordination, improves cognitive concentration and it even boosts the immune system!2 Doesn’t that make for a more relaxed household (and a more relaxed mum!)? Our family appointments are heaps of fun too! If you like, everyone gets adjusted one after the other, with everyone in the same room. It can get a little noisy and chaotic, but we like it that way. Everyone gets together, we do balancing games to improve cerebellar function with the little ones, mind games and puzzles with the older kids to challenge cognitive abilities and allow for better spatial awareness. Sometimes we will give some fun homework to keep up the gross motor learning at home, think rolling around on the floor and crawling races up the hallway. Developmental milestones are an interesting and slightly divisive subject; kids that hit them are “great, keep it up, we love it”, but the kids that don’t tend to be seen as “it’s ok, they’ll catch up.” Yeah, they probably will… eventually, but there are heaps of ways you can help PRIME the brain and nervous system to help them catch up quicker. A recent study published by the Australian Spinal Research Foundation showed that a 15 month old with motor delays (wasn’t crawling, standing or even sitting unaided) was walking after the seventh visit.4 I know first-hand that our second child went from commando crawling to cross crawling literally the afternoon, following an adjustment (at 5 and a half months *proud dad*). The research also links developmental delays in babies with behavioural issues as children AND increased parenting stress, so why not get your kids checked by a chiropractor if it could help you be less stressed. It is even possible that chiropractic adjustments could help your children concentrate better at school. Chiropractic adjustments take stress off the nervous system, allowing the brain to concentrate on higher order thinking5 (AKA academia). Now, we’re not saying we can get your kids straight A’s, but being able to concentrate and learn better would have to help, right? Many adults choose to get adjusted because it makes them feel and function so much better, why not offer that same amazing feeling for your kids who are still developing?! Give us a call today to get the whole family checked. We feel so strongly about getting the whole family checked that we offer a family discount to make it very affordable*. *Conditions apply 1 - https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S016147541400178X

Thanks for helping me understand how chiropractic care works and how it can help someone feel better. I always see these ads somewhere around malls or restaurants but I have not tried it since I had no idea about what they do. I find it interesting to know that they can help children concentrate better at studying. I should share this with my sister since she might be interested, along with taking her daughter with her. 1/5/2021 07:41:46 pm
I get a lot of benefit from visiting my chiro somewhat regularly as my job messes my back up over time, not sure if i'd bring the kids (unless they had back issues) but might be worth trying. 8/6/2022 07:51:18 am
